GETTING A MARRIAGE LICENSE | Making Your Union Legal in Florida.
Couples are responsible for obtaining their own marriage license. Both people being married (Florida residents and non-residents alike) must apply in person for a license at the Clerk of Courts office in St. John's County. Identification requirements apply, so please contact the Clerk of Courts office directly to determine what documents will be needed. Once obtained, a marriage license is valid for 60 days from the date it is acquired. There is a mandatory three-day waiting period following the day of application unless the couple has attended a state approved marriage course within the past year. For more information, visit the St. John's County Clerk of Courts website, or call their office at (904) 819-3640.
